Anyone got a 3-inch trash pump hose setup that holds prime and doesn’t kink when we’re dewatering sumps around rig mats at 0400? We’re on a Honda WB30, 20’ hard suction with a foot valve and two 50’ lay-flat discharges on aluminum camlocks; thinking about reinforced suction and double-bolt clamps — worth the swap, or is there a better strainer/valve combo for bentonite-heavy water?
Reinforced suction hoses can make a big difference in maintaining prime, especially with bentonite-heavy water. I’ve had great luck with using a proper strainer to prevent clogging — something with a larger mesh can keep things flowing smoothly. Have you considered upgrading to a variable valve for better control?
I’d try those double-bolt clamps; I’ve seen them work wonders on kinks, especially late at night… Have you thought about the strainer size for your bentonite mix, @tomK32?
